We have arrived safely and soundly in Verbier.  It took us 2 1/2 hours to get to Jomo - as  Thika Road  -the newish highway to get us to the bypass - was block off by demonstraters - and one of the detour access roads was also blocked.  Got there in plenty of time - and all went smoothly after that. Swiss is an awesome company to fly with with a group of kids - and our flights went smootly.  Les Elfes staff gave us a very warm welcome, as usual, and immediately your children were placed in their rooms (girls in one chalet - boys in the other), had a great warm lunch, one by one got fitted for skis, boots, and helmets (and ski clothes if needes), and then kids had some free time for a while.  Les ELfes  staff organized a group bonding session - not only for your student to get to know each other (we have grade 7 - 10 students) but also the other school and individuals that are here with us.  We flew in with a group from Dubai and shared a bus from Geneva to Verbier - without much interaction between them.  This activitity should help cooperation as we share the two chalets, food, and interact in evening activities later in the week.

I  unfortunately, had a severe headache starting in Geneva and could hardly move till around 7:00 PM last night. Otherwise, I would have taken some picts of our arrival and boot fitting and such, but, alas, could not.  I will see what I can do today - I will show you some picts of students in their full ski gear getting ready to hit the mountain for the first day of skiing!!

Everyone - including us - very excited to be here and can't wait to get up into the mountains.  It is absolutely beautiful here - lots of snow - lots of sun - blue skies (not yet - I'm up early and watching from Les Elfes as the distant mountains slowly light up).

More later

David
